Short answer: Recharging PAYG credit resets the PAYG Base Plan to 365 days. After the PAYG Base expires, ALDI provides a 120-day Additional Period to recharge before it may permanently cancel the service and number.

The dates depend on how the PAYG service started

Event Published rule
PAYG recharge All PAYG credit resets to a new 365-day expiry period
PAYG Base expires A 120-day Additional Period begins
No recharge during the Additional Period ALDI may permanently cancel the service and number

There is an important exception. The current terms say a $5 starter pack activated after 23 May 2023 initially has 60 days of PAYG validity; older starter packs had 365 days. Once you recharge PAYG credit, the 365-day reset applies.

What can you do during the Additional Period?

ALDI says you can receive calls and SMS, call emergency services, send the recharge SMS to 590, or call customer care for recharge help. Normal paid use is not a replacement for recharging.

After a recharge, sign in to my ALDI Mobile and confirm the transaction and new expiry. ALDI's terms say it is the customer's responsibility to check that the recharge completed.

What is lost at the end?

Clause 13 says the service may be permanently cancelled after the 120-day Additional Period, which may permanently lose the phone number. It does not provide a guaranteed recovery window after cancellation.

KeepSim can calculate reminders from that date. It cannot recharge the service or verify ALDI's payment processing.
